Rajdhani was a particularly difficult concept to interpret as it had dichotomy in all aspects of its nature. The food was absolutely traditional & ethnic but the outlets were all in glitzy super sleek malls. As a food format it was fine dine but in terms of execution & operation it was fast food.
As a format it was equally relevant to both rustic & elite cultural tradition.For this purpose the architects chose elements from rustic rajasthani households such as rope, rough timber, pebbles, traditional sarees, mud house windows & rough wall textures & reinterpreted them in a contemporary manner.
